This has been 2 1/2 years in the making but it is finally done. It is a (discontinued) Great Planes Giant 330L. BME 100 for power. Dual Duralite li-on's running through fromeco regulators to a Smart-fly power board. 8611's all the way round. She came out at about 27 lbs. The plane flies awesome! Took only took 2 clicks of trim on the elevator for the maiden. Does all the 3D stuff that I know how to do. My new favorite plane to fly! If I could only get past the "first flight" jitters that I seem to get every time I fly it.
The story goes like this. Way back when me and my sister were kids my Dad built my sister a waterbed frame. Well he never built anything big like that for me which did not bother me at all. Well about 3 years ago he brings that up and then tells me he would like to build something for me. Well of course the first thing out of my mouth was airplane. At the time I was flying 28% planes. He is also a modeler and had built numerous models but never something this big. Well to keep it short he is now into giant scale planes with a trailer full. We fly together as often as possible and keep each other in line.
I just wanted to give my Dad a Big Flying Giants BADASS Thank you for all the work that he put into this!!!!
