Re: Spektrum AR7000 Beware!
that unit is only rated for up to a 85cc bird.so if you are flying just that sized airplane you do not need no fancy power systems or anything like that. i flew my 50cc yak with no issues with my ar7000 reciever. i since up graded my radio to a 9303 and decided to get the 921 reciever. still no issues. a plane that size will not require anything like that. just get some good regs or switch over to a123's even more simple. that reciever will last you for any plane you want it in. you want 30% it will do it you want a 43% no problem. i have seen people fly with no issues a 35%er with a ar7000. all that bling is just added weight, possible failure points, and just not needed. and you mentioned that the reciever voltage is only 5v with the smart fly im pretty sure jr has a internal reg if it is needed inside. i just bought mine at chief aircraft for $189 american. not sure what the exchange rate is. a friend of mine that is very well sponsored and known and im sure just about everyone knows him flys 40%ers just lipo's,reg, reciever,to servo's.
