Re: Blown up to 124" Ziroli Corsair Build
Barry, I have to admire anyone that can take a set of plans, blow them up, do some re-engineering and build from there. I had the bright idea to build a Don Smith 1/4 Scale Corsair from a Lasercut USA kit with plans and I changed my mind and sold the kit.
Of all the Warbirds out there, the Corsair is the most impressive in the air, especially flying right at you. The Corsair was also one of the fastest planes and I think you need to consider that when selecting your engine. Chances are you will need the nose weight that is typically the case with warbirds, so having some extra "cc's" up front will not hurt you. You will never go wrong with a DA engine but they are light weight and I don't know about you but I hate to add redundant weight in the way of lead so you may want to consider a larger heavier engine to help alleviate that issue as you will need the nose weight anyways. Good luck with the build I look forward to seeing the finished product!
