one thing to note is most of the giant scale electrics i see competing are flown by sponsored pilots. large electric set ups are very expensive and you need a lot of batteries to compete along with back ups. my feelings are that lipos have a shelf life and used have no value so it is a very expensive choice in an already expensive hobby.
