Last year I competed unsponsored in IMAC Basic using an electric Hangar 9 Sukhoi 33%. The cost for the power plant was:

Motor - Turnigy 80-100-130 $150.00
Speed Controller - Turnigy K-Force 120A $220.00
Batteries - FlighMax 3 sets of 6S-4000 $65.00 x 12 = $780.00

Total = $1150.00

What does a DA-85 cost with pipes?

I flew the entire season on 3 sets of batteries and they still have all of their original snap.
I also use these batteries in other planes so it shares the cost.
