Edgey!
![]() |
After huckin the Edge real hard since day one it was time to go over everything and convert it to IMAC mode for some serious practice through the winter.
First thing I did was remove the smoke system, saving about 1lb of weight. I relocated my tank to the center of the airplane (after removing the smoke tank), and went over everything to make sure nothing had come loose. A mejzlik 25 x 12s will be replacing the Vess 27B, and I'll be cutting another no limitz spinner to fit the new prop. The Vess prop makes a fantastic sound, but I would probably be grounded the first time the judges heard it rip! I already have MTW cans on the edge, so the Mejzlik will reduce the prop sound dramatically. With everything in place right now my CG is about 6.5" back from the leading edge. I'll fly it like that to begin with and adjust the CG from there. A new program will be made, and my linkages adjusted accordingly to give me max servo resolution. I'm looking forward to shooting some straight lines with it!.. |

Could someone give me a measurement from bottom of tail wheel to top of rudder. Also bottom of mains and top of cowl My transport would be my 8 ft. bed of truck and short topper. Great looking plane. Would be first attempt at 36% have had a couple 50 ccers.
Thanks in advance. Bob |

From the ground to the top of the rudder is just short of 28", and from the ground to the top of the cowl is about 23"..... unless its in the air

Hi guys, Im in the process of putting together one of these that I just received a couple of weeks ago. I'm curious about the serial numbers. I notice that the one Ken put together to start this thread off in January of '08 is stamped serial #32. Mine is stamped serial #22. What's up with that? I'm assuming these are in fact serial numbers, perhaps I shouldn't. Not a big deal, but something sticks in the back of my mind that there was some issues with the earlier batches. Can anyone comment?
Thanks in advance, Brad |
