IMO, making a full scale RC plane that could carry a passenger would really just be outfitting a full scale plane with a redundant RC system.

I was involved in the development in the full scale Micco 200-260 aircraft which was developed from the original Meyers 145 certificate, trust me when humans get in the aircraft and threaten life below, the picture changes rapidly, it's called the FAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really the only part of an RC plan that might be usable is the outer 3-view. None of the internal structures can be simply scaled up to full-size without a complete re-engineering, structures analysis, etc. The same question, then, could be asked about a sketch on a napkin. Could it be made into a full-size airplane? Of course - look at what Rutan has done. Could it be done by anyone but a true craftsman with extensive hands on experience? I doubt it.
