Re: Extreme Flight 78" Extra flight

Wow maybe I need to back up and punt here. I also have a DLE-20 I can put on the 70in. What do you guys think? Is it possible to have too much motor? My 74in Yak would hover at about 1/3rd throttle with the 46 Brilleli on it. That was kinda nice but getting it to slow down was a task sometimes. I had originally bought the 30 for that plane and was gonna transplant the 46 to a Planes Plus Extra I still have never finished. Please let me know what you think.

I honestly would have to say no on the DLE-20 on the 70". I mean, it may fly it but I don't think you would get much performance out of it.
That being said the 30 was ballistic and if you are just intending to "sport" fly, well.....it may work Ok....but I think the 30 would be a better choice ( with throttle managment )

Thanks BR I will stick to my original plans and put the 20 on the 68in EF Yak. Yes I still have it! I tried to talk Chris into a re-release but no luck. I think it will be a kick A$$ combo!

I never did get to fly one of those ( I had the original 87" ) but I know it was a great plane!
Let us know how it goes!

The 68 would be perfect for it! I think you will be fine with the DLE 20 on a 70", but you will have to keep the weight down... worth a try, at least...

Will do! I am looking forward to flying that plane again. That was my first high end 3D plane by that I mean not a great planes or Hangar 9 plane. It was night and day between that plane and everything else I had flown. I just hated the YS110 with a passion as mine was just way too finiky. So it got put away. I will finish up the Extra first so it will be a little while but I will definatly let you guys know how it does.

I had a YS 1.10 and loved it! It was a real stump puller and although a little finicky at first, once set up correctly was a great engine. I wish I had kept it but I sold it with the plane it was attatched too.
I have a YS 1.40 but have yet to get it running correctly....
I think the DLE 20 will fly the 70" but not sure it will be all you may want it to be...in the long run but as 50% said, it would be worth a try.

Re: Extreme Flight 78" Extra flight

Well I already have the 30 mounted on the Extra so I will just go with it. I think the 20 will be right at home on the 68in Yak so I cant really go wrong here I guess. By the way I am sorry to hijack your blog 50%!
