IMO this is ridiculous.
No big FAA registration decals will be on the exterior of my birds, especially the scale stuff!
I am going to pencil this BS in as light and as small as possible in the most inconspicuous place (wheelwell perhaps).
There is no requirement that the numbers be large. My FAA numbers are 1/2" tall and my ama, name and phone are only 1 inch tall (the entire decal). I'm going to put them under the landing gear. So, unless it crashes and someone finds it. They will never see any of it.

FAA ID

It is my understanding that each FAA registrant must place their FAA number in a location that is accessible without tools, but it need not be really visible on the exterior of the model. I seem to remember that the battery box was mentioned by the FAA.

For years I have been putting my Name, Address, Telephone # and AMA number on a sticker, piece of tape or just putting a business card inside my planes, all without regard to accessibility.

Since the transmitter is an essential part of every RC model, you certainly cannot fly without it, why not Identify my models as I always have. To comply with the regulation, put the FAA number on the transmitter. The transmitter is just as much a part of a sUAS as the receiver or the engine. I would defy anyone to prove otherwise, you simply cannot fly a sUAS as defined by the FAA, without a transmitter.

Your transmitter is unlikely to fly out of control and cause damage to others. The vehicle (plane, copter, drone, etc...) needs to be traced to the owner if it has caused damage or death to others.

Well, very true,, all they have to be is readable, I plane to print out some clear stick on labels, you can print them at home for pennies a piece. Bottom of the fuse, you'll never see them, or find another obscure place or hatch. no big deal until this gets resolved and we (not really drone flyers) are excluded

Guys want to buy .5x3" numbers from B&E and incorporate them into the stickering of their ARFs,, that cool too.

My point, somewhat intentionally concealed, is that the FAA regulation was poorly conceived and written. The FAA regulation covers "sUAS" or small Unmanned Aircraft Systems which I contend includes the transmitter out of necessity. Please note that I also said I would continue to place my customary identification inside my models, name, address, telephone number and AMA number.

Finally, I have no issues with B&E's products and hope they sell millions of them, it is a free enterprise thing; find a need, fill the need and be justly rewarded!

FAA Registration by B&E Graphix. I didn't care for the lettering so they made my own design. This one is 2" diameter.

The numbers are blacked out because they are the numbers given me by the FAA. Obviously I didn't want the entire number advertised to the world! 😉
