No, you did not read incorrectly, I am scratchbuilding a fun little project, a 40" carden extra 300 midwing. I plan on ordering the 118" kit from carden, and figured id brush up on my covering, and plot out the scheme for my 118"er. For right now, I'm having a blast. Heres the plan for the faq ive been asked.

Landing gear: I will be using the spare landing gear I have for my 48" aerobeez epp extra, it is perfect size and proportionate, and very nicely molded from carbon tow.

Fiberglass parts: All fiberglass parts will be made off of a foam mold, and I will eat thefoam away with some safe form of chemical. Specifics will be determined later.

Foam cores: I have a good friend of mine I will possibly be having cut via cnc hotwire out of eps foam. If that falls through, I will order custom cores from flyingfoam.com. Yes, all stabs, turtle deck and belly and canopy hatch will be foam cored. I will only have the stabs and wings outsourced. I plan on using my hand operated hotwire for everything else.

Equipment: to be determined. Planning on a battery in the neighborhood of a 3s 850mah pack or smaller. Servos will probably be futaba s3114's or equivilant.

Plans: very rough sketches, but dimensions are accurate to what I am building. Alot of parts on the plans will be traced after I like the fit. I am sort of winging it...

Target weight: I'm hoping for less than 2lbs. The epp 48" aerobeez extra is around 40 oz, im hoping for under 32 oz. All up.

Why? Just why? : I love to build, I also need to plot out the color scheme for my imac plane, I would like this to be a fun plane to put next to the 118, and it woud be fun to practice imac at a park. Why NOT? Haha.
