I got a brand spankin new Mintor 60cc for my Pitts M-12s sitting here, with all the issues with the M60 and their other cc's, I just can't see myself bolting it on there. That's why I'm exploring other engines. EME is back on the list:-)

I know its not a lot and i dont fly as hard as Neal but i now have 3 gallons threw my 60 with out any issues. It has great throttle response and hauls my Yak out of hover with ease.

Rick, since you started this thread you can close it.
But since most the issues have been ironed out all the negative and crap talkers should pipe it down some.

Just close this thread on a good note and start another one on a possitive note so we can still get and pass info on these great engines.

Actually I guess you can't close your own threads. Just start another one and maybe this one will just fade away.

if it's left open it gives some where to post problems .as of now the only problem early on was a bad crank in a 55,that has been taken care of.i will bet there isn't one engine manufacture that hasn't had trouble with something along the way, be it a US made or across the pond.
in time we will all know how good or bad EME realy is.the only thing i hope EME has got iron out is the weak crank pin and or lower rod bearing, that seems most china made engines have.
if that holds up they have a good engine.

There is good information here and should be left up to the ready to utilize it properly. Sure you will have those that will continue to cause problems, but they won't go away just because you close this thread.

I for one have gained a few new grains of knowledge out of the thread. Hopefully some others have as well. You would be surprised at how many may read a thread and never respond. This thread was a good bit of help on the fact that the cranks had an issue and was resolved. Speaks well of EME!

Do you have references to this "weak crank pin" or "lower rod bearing"?
This is the first I hear of this "problem" and I'd like to know more about it

what i was saying is china made engines have had problems with the lower rod bearing or soft crank pin.
not saying that EME has the same problem, but they are made in china,we won't know till more time goes by.
i have six gals. through my EME60 now and it has the normal "click" at TDC when you rock the prop shaft. not realy worried about it as long as it dosen't get any worse.i say normal for china made engines, the DA,MVVS,Taurus, engines i have has NEVER had a clicking sound at TDC.

I think you're making a gross generalisation that doesn't need to be made. Goods of any origin can have problems. Made in China engines used to be a joke 5 years ago. Today there are well respected manufacturers. Sure its early days for EME but anything that crops up now is likely a production issue as the designs seem very sound and robust. The continuing prejudice leveled at China is quite tiresome. Sure PRC goods perhaps don't always receive the level of QC we westerners expect, but we have other choices that can deliver against that expectation. We're goingto pay a premium for those Evolution/MVVS, 3W, ZDZ, Kolm, Zenoah, GP, DA etc.
Location of manufacture is not a guarantee against quality. Look At Mintor. Excellent designs, scuppered by poor subcontractor delivery against expectations and a parent factory with not enoguh resources to manage their QC system.

Happens to the best of them, not just Made in China
