I need help identifying the mfg or retailer of this 82" wing span Edge 540. It has balsa sheeted foam wings, horizontal, and vertical. The access hatch is much smaller than normal and fits between the cockpit and cowl. Elevator servos are located under each side of the horizontal.
I was told this was a China Models product but, can't find anything in their inventory that matches. I'll try and post better pictures later. Thanks, RJ |

Kind of looks like the OLD 82" Great Planes Edge 540 designed for a 1.2 - 1.8 glow motor.
No? Does the inside look like this?

It does say "Giant Scale" on the bottom of the wing. Try with www.giantscaleplanes.com ...

It looks to me like the Hangar 9 Edge.

No the H9 has 78 inch one piece built up wing and the elevator servos in the hatch. The one Sleepy posted is a H9. I had one back in the day.

The cockpit would be smaller if it was the hangar 9 edge plus it would be a one piece wing.

DUH ! Giant Scale Planes is the right answer. My brain must have shorted out somewhere in the process of looking at those photos. Those pics came from another forum, as in "not my plane but, it looks just like this one". Mine doesn't have the lettering on the underside of the wings.
Thanks for help guys. Us mentally challenged old farts need a push once in a while. ![]() Giant Scale Planes in PA imported them 4 or 5 yrs ago. I found an add for this particular model on the web linking it to them. I believe the were made by CH models as that's how I found the ad. It's listed as an 80" wing span so everything fits. Now, I need to find a cowl for it. Anyone know where I should look? I've already tried Giant Scale Planes with no luck and I've sent an email to Fiberglass Specialties. Giant Scale says they might have a cowl from a Katana or Extra that might fit as they carried those models too. If all else fails, I've found a cowl for a Great Planes Extra 330S that will fit but, will be about an inch too tall. The width is just right and I can modify the cowl so it won't look too big. Here's some pics of my bird. I brought it home Friday and took a few reference pics. Anyway, thanks again. RJ |

I finally found a cowl. The Great Planes Extra 330 cowl is a perfect fit. I ordered and installed one and it fit like it was made for it. A little cosmetic work will help it match the plane.
