Power boosters are no more than a capacitor to hold line voltage.

Mike Mayberry:
I gave you a ton of what for in this thread. As a consumer, I demand top quality, just as my customers demand top quality where I work. That said, you continued to focus on the "real" fix and, in the end, attained positive results for the consumer. For that, a tip of the hat and a simple "thank you"!

Let's not forget the hours and hours of research and development by Rachel and Buttface. Collectively, all worked together toward a positive conclusion.

Great job!

Mike calls it a "signal line booster". Is there something else called a power booster? Maybe we're talking about two different things.

Just make sure you use Hitec brand signal boosters to be safe. I don't even need them on my V2's with long leads.
How do we tell when we go to purchase them if they are the V2?

After 300 pages of craziness I would probably just avoid them all together.

10-4.
I will buy no more Big Hitecs. I'll put them on foamys perhaps, because those aren't historically troublesome. Savox 1270's are my servo of choice for GS now.

Funny thing is it is not only the Hitec 7950 that shakes. I bought a set of Futaba 9157's that I put on my Pilot 42% Edge. The rudder shakes and does the funky chicken just like the 7950's did on my AW Extra with the 7950's. I also had it happen with a small electric powered plane a few years ago that had Futaba servos. In that case I replaced them with Hitec HB65MG servos and the problem went away. So far with Savox servos I have not run into it as of yet.

I had one of the v-1's so violent out of the box it broke the aluminum servo arm (rudder two sided) 2 other shook pretty good and the 4th behaved properly. I tossed em all. $500 lesson i will never need again.

FIX THOSE SERVOS

Why throw out $500 of perfectly good servos. Click on my FORUM NAME Mrs R and you will find how to modify the 7950 Servo (and repair schemes for 7955s and others with the 7955 PCB ) and after carrying out the mods you will have very good servos and much better than SAVOX.
My BLOG is a bit backward and forward but there are instructions and photos to help in bringing them up to what they should be and if you have a problem post on this site or PM me and I will try to give more assistance.

ALL THE BEST
