Question
Secraft Canopy Locks

Hey Guys!
I was looking at the Secraft canopy locks http://www.secraft.net/shop/step1.php?number=1141
It says than can only be used on electrics, I was wondering if anyone knows differently or has any alternatives with similar function.
Thanks in advance!
Ryan

just FYI the same question from a few years back, I am also in the market of quick release system(gasser), really need to shorten the assembly time during lunch break.

i have never used these, but it seems that in a gas plane, the vibrations could cause that to "open" and release the pin. OTW, looks very very cool.

just the other day, i flew my eagle cap, with 4 screws that held the hatch, 4-40. and when i landed her , i noticed 2 of them were gone. both were on the same side that worked their way out. i have a da 120 on her, and she is GP 1/3 scale size plane.

They look awsome . A heavier spring on the release button should cure the gasser concern along witha well balanced prop.

someone in the JTEC extra thread suggested Camlocs as used by race cars, I only know the Dzus fasterners, but it seems Camloc make some much smaller ones. and they should resist vibration very well too.

Gas I got about 60-70 flights with the canopylocks before i dumbtumbed it down.
Make sure you have the locks tight so the canopy dont have a play, then its not a problem. You know what i mean when you mount them. And use loctite.

Camlocks, or Dzus fasteners will hold up under vibration and also secure very tightly if installed properly. I'd love to try them on my Krill, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out a way to use them to engage the phenolic blades on the canopy...I'll keep brainstorming this one though.

There is a guy at my club here who uses these locks on his canopy for his 35% Yak. It's a GoldWing, or something like that. He has a DA-100 on it. I'm sure he has more than 100 flights on this plane, I've never seen the canopy come loose.
