Balsa USA J-3 gear

Am just about finished with my 1/3 scale J-3 and now starting to tackle the gear. For me it is a bear. I do not believe I have the know how to do correctly. Balsa wants 150.00 to assemble it ( do the soldering ). Robart wants 185.00 out the door ready to go. Do any of you guys have any preference as to which is the better gear ? I am so close to finishing this project that I do not want to flub it now. Thanks so much for your time and input. Don

Hey flightdeck. I know how intimidating some of that "stuff" can be. I do a pretty good job of soldering. Not knowing where you are is the thing. I would be happy to assemble your gear for you, but with shipping and all that: would it be worth it? I am in northern Michigan, and there would be no labor involved, just any additional materieals needed. ie. silver soldor, etc.
If interested email me at - twhite346@charter.net, as I do not frequent this site as often as I should.
PS - glad to hear you actually "built" an airplane. I cannot believe that this "build thread" is 90% ARF's. Those aren't builds, they are assemblies!!

build
verb (used with object)
1. to construct (especially something complex) by assembling and joining parts or materials: to build a house.

assemble
— vb
1. to come or bring together; collect or congregate
2. to fit or join together

Just sayin...

Members here are encouraged to provide "build threads" of arfs OR kits to assist others in their "builds".

I like both.

Here is my latest kit build: https://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/...ad.php?t=66514

I like builds more than ARF's, you just take pride in something when you build it completely, Here is my build, its not much, just a small plane but any suggestings on things I could do differently as this is my first build in about 10 to 12 years. I got out of the hobby for a while when I got a car and realized how much fun drag racing was. https://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/...ad.php?t=72325
