Regarding the Malibu....it's a hangar turd. It belongs to some guy that has been out of the country for years and hasn't flown in probably close to a decade. It's pretty much scrap.

As an aside, a few guys PM'd me regarding what the scheme was going to be back when we were just getting the Sabre prepped for paint. My answer was along the lines of "Just think about it for a Minute-Man." I was trying, poorly, to be clever. Hope it didn't come across as snide or offensive. If so, my apologies.

We're really excited to be as close as we are with it after 4 years of work. With any luck we'll start engine runs and taxi tests in April. I, for one, REALLY hope everything checks out (anything that doesn't would be unforeseen...we've gone completely through this bird!) because I CANNOT wait to fly it.

Probably only offensive to NOW members. (NAGS for you Ditto heads)

I may not be clever, but I thought that was a great hint.

It doesn't sound like it would be offensive, but it is a very clever hint. I like it!
Still... poor Malibu.....
Good luck to you in April! I'll have my fingers crossed anxiously awaiting the news.

Another quick couple of shots:

The plane coming out of the hangar on its way to the local FBO to do a gear swing.

So good news, the gear swing went really well. Only a couple of minor adjustments were needed, and the plane is now back on its own legs. Here is a shot of the plane up on jacks:

Next is the installation of the GPS and then the pitot/static & IFR inspections.

Couple of quick replies: That tail seen in one of the above shots is of an F-1 Rocket, which I think I like a little better than the Harmon Rocket.

Oshkosh will probably have to wait until next year. We've only been working on this plane for 4.5 years now...what's the rush?

Yeah.. the F-1 Rocket is a NICE airplane for sure.

Just out of curiosity.. is that Klein Gilhousen's hangar? I think he's in Bozeman.

Klein does have a nice hangar here on the field, but we're not in it. It's stuffed full of his own cool flying thingies.
