From what I've been told, and after Pedro and I weighed my airframe which came in at 20lbs in the bones, mine is going to come in over 30lbs, so I don't think the 55 would be a good idea, but very scale..

My guess will be 33-35lbs..

Re: A.M.R. Giant Stick

My goof - it's the Stick 50 that I'm thinking of getting. It hit me this morning on the airfield (the thought - not a plane) when i was thinking of Mokken's answer to my OAL fues question.

So, now that I have enough almost enough coffee in me - will a Stick 50/DL55 work with smoke?

Also - is the build manual online anywhere? The last time I built a kit, Nixon was still in office

(going for more coffee........)

The stick 50 should be fine. You have to email AMR for the manual, I asked for one after I purchased my kit, since it's a week or so travel time via Fed-Ex from Canada.

As stated above the DLE55 would work fine. The reason you will have to contact them for a copy of the manual is it's a hard copy not a pdf or anything electronic. Nicely done with alot of pics to help simplifiy things.

Re: A.M.R. Giant Stick

Well Old Fart, you are not alone. I built a kit over 30 years ago. It was a Sig Kadet Jr. and I flew it enough times to learn to take off but not land...LOL...
Now I'm building the 85 kit and am having fun. I'm slow putting this together but it's an excellent kit. Everything fits and as Super08 mentioned the manual is excellent. If you decide to do it this is the kit to build. Straight forward and easy to understand......

I had a picture of the 50 up on the computer last night, the CFO liked it. So...it looks like the 50 might be my next plane

The only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to get it to the field

I may have a line on a new DL50 for cheap too

Re: A.M.R. Giant Stick

Super08 - when you get a chance...

With the fuse sitting on the gear - what't the tallest part? (most likely the top of the rudder)

Maximum dimension on the wing leading to trailing edge?

Haven't even bought the kit yet - figuring out how it will fit in the truck. My 25% Monocoupe and 27% Ultimate force me to pull the tonneau cover - I'm thinking the Stick50 will be in the same boat.

Thanks!

Re: A.M.R. Giant Stick

Thank you sir!

I measured the back of the truck - with the tailgate DOWN my OAL is exactly the wingspan of the Stick 50. Karma!
