No, not Paris Hilton graphic, but Adobe .PDF file graphic!! For those of you who have been frustrated by the "text only" descriptions in the AMA Competition Regulations, here are excellent visual presentations of the AMA patterns for the new season. Here's the link to the page. . . look for "Powerpoint Presentations" about half way down the page. . .

So, try out the maneuvers on you flight sim, get out and practice a few times, then find a contest and show up!! The season starts in earnest in couple months!!

Thanks Keith! Maybe one of you dudes can fly the sequences and save on the sim? Wayne did a KILLER job of this for the IMAC sequences. Glad to have you here Keith and very happy to see more activity in the pattern facet!

I have only had luck using the sim working one maneuver at a time. Hopefully someone else more talented than me flying the sim can put the whole sequence together and post it.

As you can tell from the presentations, in Pattern each maneuver feeds into and is the setup for the next. Each maneuver is either centered in front of you, or performed at the 60 degree line to your right or left (turnaround maneuvers). This is where I screw it up trying to fly the whole sequence in the simulator; whenever I lose sight of the ground I miss my ground references for the center and turnarounds and end up rotating everything 90 degrees or more.

Keith, I have the same problem with the sim. Maybe when the weathter clears up, we can make some real videos of all the sequences.

Same thing for me! I end up 9 miles away from where I started, and I can never find the correct zoom so I can actually see the plane and see the ground at the same time.

I agree on the sim, I've watched Wayne's vids and I have to say, it takes some talent to be able to make things look that good on the sim, wish I could do it.
