According to Fourtitude, the line inside the tank should expand once in contact with fuel.

But I doubt it. I have tested it several times and the fuel line is still an inch shorter of the bottom of the tank.

What are others experiencing? Should I change it?

Yeah they dont expand much if any but unless you plan on flying your plane till the last drop you will be fine the way it is.

If the line expands it means it is reacting with the gas and will get stiff. Make it Viton and forget about it.

Brand new tank leaked all over the inside of my new AJ 230! Found the pick up o ring broken and stuck to the inside of the cap. Will never use again! Back to Dubro tanks and SWB caps for me never a problem.

Another option for you:
Would you consider obtaining a Fiji water bottle, which is clear, see thru, and lighter than a dubro tank, order your self a PSP cap and fittings, and you will probably get the same results as what you had before with the Dubro tanks, except, this time, you will have a lighter tank and you will be able to look inside your tank after each flight to see status of line/clunk, and fuel level.

Just my 2 cents. I, like you, have had great success with the FIJI bottle tanks and PSP caps for years and hundreds of flights.

LOL!! I just realized. Forgive me. I take back everything I said about the non-fortitude tanks.

I personally really like mine. People say the clunk is crap but I think it's great and it doesn't leave ounces of fuel in the tank like some have said. I ran out of gas while tuning the other day with the 16oz tank and really only had a few drops of fuel left behind. This is a new tank and the tygon hasn't even expanded all the way yet.
No, it's about Good & Bad according to the OP !!
Thanks, John

Gentlemen,
I'm glad to see/read about how your experiences with our Fourtitude R/C products has been over the last four years. We have been listening and have invested a great deal of time and money into designing what I feel is the best solution to our fuel tank needs in giant scale aircraft.
This week we are introducing to the public the newly designed V2 tanks. These a a vast improvement over any of the commercially available RTU tanks. No more holes drilled in the bottles and bulky fittings in the way! Look for a full detail press release on this website in the next few days. Also we are currently updating our website www.fourtituderc.com with all the details of this exciting and long over due project. Until then here are some photos and a PDF of the instruction manual.
Thanks for everyones support and hope to see you at a fly in soon.

I was on Redwing's site and they had these new tanks listed as coming soon. I ordered 2 to try out. I have one of the original tanks in a 50cc Yak 55 and like it. If these are better, that will be great.

I just bought one of the new tanks. Redwing has them IN STOCK! I think they are the only one with them right now. Dude these things are sweet!

I like that you can do maintenance on them if you need to, and NO GLUE! Yeah! Good move JasonD.!

Also, it seems like they are pretty bullet proof. there's no plastic nipples that can break or be leak points. the only opening has a double O ring. I think this one is a winner!
