20 cm motor mount distance

I was able to get the dimensions of the motor for the P47 and I would have had to put an extension on the end of the original box which would not have allowed the esc to mound in any area with good airflow.

there was no where I could access the old box and trying to get the old bolts out just stripped the nuts.

So I was able to saw the box open but now it's a real pain in the back side!!!

So I am left with a little stub of the old motor box and some ideas.

First is to make a new box and mount it to the firewall with blind nuts and new bolts, and polyurethane glue. This one could be contoured properly for esc placement and battery connection properly.

Or 22 cm long motor mount standoffs... Do they even make them that big?

Or slide a new box inside the old box and just use some screw and polyurethane glue and pocket screws?

Any ideas?

If I am going to make a new box what type of wood?

Ok, now I'm thinking about a metal frame such as something like those used to mount a Hacker motor.

Some aluminum angle and bolts would also likely work well with 3mm 6ply birch plywood attached with elastomeric welding compound would stiffen things up nicely!
