Hey Dean!

Yeah I can do the chequers - just need to get a grey or silver marker...the black was going to be too dark. Airbrush would be even better!

Sorry guys off topic but it was inspired by the CARF!

The use of the Chequer Scheme totally belongs in this thread. It's the best looking scheme out there!!

Yesterday my Extra was finally shipped! Hopefully it will arrive this week so I can drool over it all weekend.

I think I have all parts that I need now but I think that I want to change the aileron/elevator push rods to titanium turnbuckles. Could someone please tell me the length of the turnbuckles needed?

I used 60mm x 3mm on the ailerons, and 70mm x 3mm on the elevator. Both were Secraft Stainless Steel items. Keep in mind that I mounted the elevator servo with the servo shaft closer to the leading edge, and on the ailerons I used JR side mounts to allow the servo shaft to be a close to the centre of the servo hatch slot as possible. Things can vary a little depending on how you go about it. There is a 5mm variation on the position of the aileron servo hatches from the trailing edge (inboard to outboard).

The delivery of my Extra is starting to sound like a bad joke... First the container was held up a week in customs. Then earlier last week I got a call from the shipping company that they had a package for me from Carf and that it would be delivered Friday. Nothing showed up... Then today I got a new call saying that it would be delivered today in an hour. "Yes!!" I thought and said that I would hurry home so I could receive it. Almost at home they call again and say that they somehow can't make the delivery because of other priorities. ***?! Hate to deal with shipping companies...
Next I will probably find out that they missplaced the wings or something on the way...

BTW sorry to hear about the shipping run-around Parakos! It's like Christmas being deferred over and over again by cruel parents!

Thanks Tim! The problem is not so much getting the plane today but their total lack of understanding that they wasted my time which could have been put to better use at work. My not so friendly tone on the phone expressing my dissapointment will make it very interesting to see what condition the package will arrive in.

Btw Tim, awaiting the video of your maiden.

Yep getting home for deliveries is hard enough!

If all goes to plan, we're looking at a possible maiden this weekend!
