Unless ou got HV servos theat will take 7v + it is pointless running lipo, you will need a unnessary reg that will limit how much current you can pull from your packs, more wireing, more waight, worse porfirmance, more things to fail ect kiss !!

My twin 2300 a123 packs are way way overkill, I can fly all day with them without thinking about recharging them, twin 5200 is just silly I only have twin 4600 packs I'm my 40% with 14 servos lol

One A123- 2300 with a dedicated lead to the receiver and a dedicated lead to the ignition... The ignition is gonna use around 80mAh in a 10 minute flight.... the flight controls.... well.... that is subjective to flying style...

When I fly mine hard I use about 375 mah (ign and receiver) per flight of 10 minutes. When I let Colton fly it it is about 475.

So for me, I could do an easy 4 flights with about a 35% margin at the end. I used to do this but in the past year, I have come up with a custom wiring harness that brings the balance tap out to the fuse or wing in a mini deans fuse port mount.

When I come up to the flight line I have my Cellpro 4S in one pocket and my WWRC 3300-13.2v LIFE field pack in the back pocket (weighs 11 oz) After each flight I just plug into the fuse or wing mounted balance tap port and while re-fueling or BS-ing with the guys I get topped off in about 7-10 minutes. If I want to go right back up I may only have put about a hundred mAh back in but know that I am better than 95% full in the main pack. This 3300 mah life that I developed for myself to be used (cause the deep cell marine battery was killing me) is also offered on the website, and allows me to go ALL DAY recharging the 50cc profile or say 8 flights..But even if I did all 8 flights and ran the pack out I would still have 4 flights left in my on board A123-2300) . The beauty of the setup is, on my 13.2v pack I dont worry about running it out cause it wont crash anything but the charger.(reset)...Back at the trailer or back at home I just plug the cellpro tap on my 13.2 into the same cellpro from another power source and if truly out of juice it will be done in just under an hour..

So that is my setup, here is a picture of Chumley's 100cc with the charger hooked up to the fuse port.

Ok guys.
One of the reasons I wasn't too interested in the LiFe chemistry is because I was thinking I'd need to buy a new charger. Turns out my Hitec X4 supports this. Another reason is I'm old, set in my ways and really like a battery I can load test. Having said this, it is possible I could be convinced to give these things a try. I may speak with Stephen since he uses them. So, no reg needed, right?

Yeah he does , and it is always a pleasure dealing with him . He goes out of his way to make sure you always get what you need . I run his batteries in all 3 of my gas planes . And will on my 30cc WWRC Profile when i get started on it .

No regulator for standard 6 volt servos, but you will need a voltage reducer for an RCXcel ignition - and WWRC sells those too.

Is RCXL what's on the DLE-55? (I'm not at home to look)

I already have several 6v regs that I use with other Li batteries. Will they work, or is something special needed for the LiFe?

Yes - DLE uses RCXcel ignitions

LiFe doesn't not require any different regulators than other chemistry

One other thing. At the suggestion of Brian, I'm pinning all the trailing edges of the control surfaces with 1/8" wooden dowel. This should add strength with very little weight gain.
