Reinforcing Carbon Fiber Landing Gear?
Guys.
I have two sets of landing gear for my 91" Extreme Flight Extra, that have developed what appear to be surface cracks on the inside. This has come about from repeated harrier landings, not from any deficiency on the part of the ARF. Has anyone ever beefed up/repaired CF gear? I thought about laminating a CF strip to the inside with silicone adhesive, which is both strong and flexible. Other than that my ideas are lacking. Thoughts? |

I have used thin CA in the crack of a landing gear and it held up for the rest of the season. I would not however trust it in a harrier landing. It may be worth the money to call Tom at TNT landing gear and have him make you an aluminum gear.

I actually did consider having a set of aluminum gear made. Thanks for responding.

I am having Tom make me one for my 3.1M Sukhoi. He is doing a lightened gear for me out of aluminum. I was looking at Graphtec but they are on back order and the owner may be looking at retirement now.
