Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!
Someone at my field has one setup and flying also?????? Hey Reza, is MTW releasing new canisters for the DA120? Going to break in the engine on stock mufflers for now but would like to switch to cans in the future.

It will interesting to see the set-up time once you are at the field. Cheers! Hey Reza, will you be coming to the November Huckfest at Castle? |

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!
You are so correct on this! Bi-Planes take longer to put together at the field! However, I got my Python down to 12 minutes! I expect this to be the same way! I have some small tricks that I will show make the assembly a little faster but when I say 12 minutes I mean just assembling not talking and assembling because latter takes 30 minutes lol

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!
Hey Matt,
The MTW-TD75 seems to be working really good on 120! I will try them as well! There is no plan as of now on a new canister for 120, I'd be one of the first ones to try if they ever think they can improve on providing new canisters but I can tell you there is absolutely nothing on this as of now! |

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!
Horizon does a great job in customer service if this was a Python you had and time was 2 years ago you had to deal with me but lucky you
DA100 should be working great! Please stop by and report to us! Quote:

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!
They are tough. Fuse looks like Python to me! Same structure! Tough plane! I flew my Python really hard for a long time and it is still alive and kicking!

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!
Rudder:
Insert the vertical fin in the fuse opening and mark where the covering needs to be removed. This section was pretty clear in the manual! The only thing I found on mine the fit was not super snug and had a slight amount of play SO, if that is the case make sure to use epoxy 30minutes and up and NOT Elmer's wood glue! Epoxy is thicker. Once the covering is removed, make sure to go over the edges with heating iron After that you can also apply some thin CA. Rudder Hinging: You need to pass the rod though the hinges to mate the rudder and vertical fin! Rod or piano wire is very flimsy so you need to be very careful not to buckle it! Rudder and Vertical fin hinges were perfectly matching! Here's the trick, lube the wire and pass through one side i.e. rudder alone, this helps lube the hinge holes and remove any residue that might be there! Do the same thing for vertical fin. Once you are happy and piano wire is moving easily then mate the parts and little by little with help of a pliers feed the piano wire, any resistance back out make sure they are lined up and repeat. Do not force or you will buckle the piano wire and will need to replace it! Piano wire diameter is 1mm and you can buy those from K&S Engineering. This is in case you buckled the one comes with the KIT. Here are some pics. |

Re: THE BEAST:OFFICIAL BUILD THREAD!
Got the vertical fin installed! Cleaned excess epoxy with alcohol or acetone!
I did apply thin layer of epoxy to both the fuse and the fin! After that secure it with masking tape to avoid any movement! Some pics |
