It does make a difference, though, you can see the balsa take on a sheen for sure when you're up in the 1,500 range. I found 3M 2,000 grit in the paint touch-up aisle at Walmart and 2,400 grit from Rockler Woodworking.

Bob, could you explain the hand burnishing part ? thanks !

GM
Your hand bunishes the surface to a shine by hand rubbing the balsa sheeting removing all dust and fine fuzz left from sanding. Keep in mind that it takes alot of hours to do this though.

Everything's great Bob. Just admiring your fine work like always. Had to insert a little humor since everyone was getting technical with the grits and such.

Hello Bob

What spacing are you using between the vertical sticks in the fuselage?
I`m starting stiffen up the fuse frame on my Ultimate.
The fuse length is about the same length as yours.

I spent the day making a huge snow storm, tomorrow I will clean up all the lightening holes and do some more spline sanding. I am just about to finish these babies up.
