I heard whispers of a 170 about a year ago, the 222 was announced and then nothing of it since.


Anyone know anything? And when is the 222 going to be available? Is this just speculative dribble?

170 doesn't exist, 222 not sure if it's in production but I'll finnd out.

It would be nice if DL came out with a 85cc class engine. If they did the 170 would only be a step away...

Look in Model Aviation...page 24...it shows a photo of a 4 cylinder DL 222. Troy built Models! It does not show a price...may need to call them. Capt,n

I would think Valley View would have the 222 before Troy Built. VV is an authorized dealer and TBM isn't.

I remember a "kit" offered to join two 111's from somewhere at sometime. I also have seen the 222 offered I believe utilizing the kit. From non-authorized dealers. Or I should say exporters. I have seen them for sale.

Well you can be rest assured now that DA has released their 170 and their 200 the asian market will be reverse engineering them, determining all they need to know and build their own versions!

Not gonna say I called it...

The 170 I am not sure about but I have actually held a 222 so I know they exist.

Correct, this is an old thread, but right after I had made post #3 last year I had contacted Donglin about the 170 and if he was going to do an 85. He confirmed that he was making a 170 and will not be doing a 85.

DLE is the only Chinese company I would have no problem with...
I made a few comments here a few years ago.
One, the Chinese are coming.
Two, when they find out they don't need a middleman, it's all over..
Well, #1 has happened, they're HERE...Take a look inside any of the DLE gassers...No better machining anywhere..
#2, partly...MT has their own website...Good thing....If a US company had to deal with the warranty issues they would drop MT in short order...Any MT dealer other than MtenginesUSA care to comment ?

Valley view is not "their" dealer/distributor as such...Jody can tell it better, just watch for a while...
