I read it differently. That each flyer brings their prelim score into the semis and adds two more scores during the semis for a total of three scores. They keep the two best out of those three and that makes up their semi score

This connection is painfully slow but here is a view of the flight line. The event (overall to the public) is much larger than Pattern.

The connection is so slow, the picture didn't even make it here.

Semi final results are listed. There are only a couple of flights left on line 1. Looks like Andrew flew a great last flight.

I totally respect the guys that put in the time, money and effort to participate in the World Championships. Looking at the scores just reinforced my frustration with judged events. Even at a World championships you can find number of cases where scores range from 6-9 on the same maneuver. Found one that ranged from 6-10.

As long as each Judge is consistent it won't matter. But I agree.

I see the TBL has made a shift in the standings from my last look. It look Andrews 995 to 960 normalized. Evidently Gernot was getting some bad scores because his TBL boosted him to win the round by a huge margin.

Andrew and Jason have moved into the finals. Joseph is the Jr World Champion, and will be a demo pilot for the finals. Team USA is in VERY good position to win the team Gold.

Any questions?
Has CPLR announced he's retiring after this WC?

Onda and AJ are there ready to pounce if anything goes wrong. Gernot finishing up there isn't really stunning IMO. He's been winning F3A events all over Europe this past year, and he IS the 2-time F3P WC.

The margin of score difference between CPLR and everyone else on flightline 1 is a bit.. odd.

Check the judges for that line. TBL only works if there is a single biased judge. If everyone is biased, TBL doesn't work.

Having said that, CPLR certainly looks to be in top form this year.

This is the flight which Christophe won today. A few people watching. I think there are some details posted about Joseph at the team facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/USA-F...181879?fref=nf , but I'll post some stuff here as well as I can.

And this is COOL. Figured appropriate for "flying giants" website venue.... Much bigger to the public than just pattern flying. The sausages are great. Salami and cheese is also pretty much topline "swiss cheese" is the main entre at breakfast each morning.
