Yep got busy with work. Transfered from the Fargo plant to the Tulsa plant so had a big move in there too. I finally just bit the bullet and said to hell with it. I haven't touched the sticks for over a year. This weekend I am planning on a full weekend of flying.

It is a fast building plane for sure. I was shocked to see that the hinge gaps were presealed and blind nuts installed for a DA engine.

Robert, I noticed that you used two separate switches on your second plane rather than the Wolverine switch on your first plane. What was the reason that you went with two switches rather than the Wolverine?

Bobby

P.S. I have both switches available so that is not a problem but I will admit that the Wolverine is a bugger to install compared tot the badger switches.

I used a single Wolverine switch on both planes. The only change I made was that I did not use an ignition switch on the second one. By using the Smart-Fly ignition kill, the ignition only has power if the receiver has power, effectively making the receiver switch an ignition switch.

I was always conservative and kept a switch for safety in the circuit until my last plane. I finally have enough trust in them to leave the manual switch out.

Thanks for the info Robert and again I'm sorry about your Dad.

Bobby

P.S. Were you able to make it to Sherman? Todd and I didn't but Hank Cooper and Jude Gordon did.

Any body got any spare parts? Need a left wing panel and probably L and Right Stab halves. Also a rudder.

Had to happen sometime but I had a rare deadstick just as i made my down wind turn. Just couldn't get over the trees at the end of the field coming to the runway with no power and a headwind. Stalled it softly into the back side of the trees. Plane was about 30 feet up undamaged. Couldn't dissasemble in the tree and by the time I got it down and had gotten it out of the brambles and vines it took a beating.

Again, need a left wing panel and probably L and Right Stab halves. Also a rudder.

Hey guys just a heads up, last week flying my plane had a funny vibration noise, i couldnt find and then noticed my wheel pants were cracked so i just assumed that was it and took it up a few more times, the next day i started it up and it was worse, so long tory short the ply that attaches to the motor box let go, and allowed for a fair amount of movment and also broke the balso and light ply formers from the front back to the gear plate, The isnt going anywhere the aluminum thats in there it was more just cracks back there, I do fly alot and the plane has seen a few cross country trips,

No, the funeral wasn't until Thursday and I didn't get back from Cincinnati (11 hour drive) until around 10PM Friday. I thought about just pulling in, hooking up the trailer and heading out on the 5 hour trip to Sherman but I was mentally and physically exhausted after everything that had gone on last week.

I talked to Jack a few times and he said Jude had an encounter with one of the power poles on the approach to the landing strip but the plane was fixable. Robert Montgomery lost his on the sun and it was a total loss. Jack was in first place going in to the Unknowns today but I haven't heard the final scores yet.

Keith thanks for the heads up, I'll keep and eye out in the future. Looks like a quick fix with a bit of glue.
