Well today was an adventure!!
I got to the Thistledown flyin today around 9am, I was greeted by many of the FG members, Corky & Jeff Heitman and many others. Everyone was setting up for a great afternoon of flying.

Just as I was setting up to fly a 25 to 30 MPH constant wind started coming down the landing strip. This did not stop Papa Joe, Snap or Chris Fry. Each of them took to the sky to sneak in a few flights in before the bad weather really came in. After a few flights Terry Hahn , Snap and Chris Fry started to tease each other about the corn pull contest, and who would be the winner. Terry Hahn proceeded to take to the air and pull out the most insane flight I have seen in a long time. He was flying his Carden 40% Extra 330 like a rag doll, beating the thing senseless, he had it tumbling sideways harder than I have ever seen, He was flying doing rollers at around one foot in the wind like he just did not care. Finally he came across the field in an inverted harrier at about 1" off the deck, then... his rudder caught the grass....which in turn tossed the plane over on the stab.. (so now the rudder and stab are dragging on the grass) this in turn pulled the plane even further over and made the right wing tip drag as well. So basically he was dragging 3 flight surfaces at the same time... He went to full throttle, and dragged all 3 surfaces around 50 feet and finally... at the last possible second, right before the corn, he pulled the plane back up into the air!! People went freaking nuts! Its was truly insane, absolutely the best save that should have never happened I have ever seen. (Thanks to my NON SLR camera, I have one shot of him low in a harrier, i snapped that picture and the save took place right after that as I was frantically hitting the button!)

Not to be outdone, our own Snap A Saurus brought the 50% edge down on the deck and put on a insane show... Hovering, waterfalls and harriers all over the place, ending in a harrier landing... .... that went bad.
The wing gusted at the last second, the mighty Edge came down, the gear folded up and slammed the big Edge into the dirt.
At this point Snap .... well he snapped and proceeded to attack almost everyone in attendance at the show.
Men, women and children were not safe! There was no controlling him. All I could do was sit back and take pictures to at least document the damage !!

OMG! Someone throw that beast in a cage!! Corky, I don't know why the hell you were so dead set on letting 'ol Snappy run amok - looks like he tore apart the whole flight line!! I coulda told you that was gonna happen!!!

Oh man, Snap-A-Wussy lost it completely!!!!!!! He was running around like gang busters, shouting something in foreign that even I, being the world traveler I am, lost for words!!! I will say this............. Snap did that harrier landing on PURPOSE!!!!!!!! He did not want to tangle with the reigning WORLD CORN PULL CHAMP!!!! Terry packed up and left. He knew when he was in over his head!!! He bailed while the getting was good!

But Snap, who helped you get your little airplane back together after the mishap................... Who cut the aluminum angle, and then who drilled it???

Now chill out, and you can buy us all drinks again tomorrow nite as well!!!!!

Sad to this. I have to say that I saw it coming though. It was just a matter of time........

That was a blast! The ironic part is I flew once more after you guys left and monokote started coming off a DIFFERENT part of the plane hah... Oh well..

It was nice meeting you guys SleepyC and Snap, and of course all the regulars there. Hope you all stay dry today.

GREAT WEEKEND, I would like to say Thanks to Corky, and all the people who put on this show...
simply outstanding is the only way to describe it. To anyone who was scared away by the weather... we got in a full day of windless flying, perfect temperature and great skys... MAN I HAD FUN!
