Aerotech 100cc Edge Build and Misc. fun stuff....

We'll at long last I have my Aerotech Edge kit and will be starting on it soon. I'm going to be jumping around quite a bit this build season as I will be working on this Edge kit as well as a PAU 30% Edge ARC at the same time. Both the ARC and this kit will undergo some modifications for lightening and strength with new / revised parts, carbon fiber, fiberglass, titanium and whatever else I come up with. I'm also working on some plans for a scratch build that I plan to start after these are done, so I may be doing some prototyping on that as ideas pop into my head or people chime in.

I have to clear my table off a bit to pay the bills with some real work first, so I thought I would take some pics before I consolidate.....

Terry,
Are you using the 3M contact cement to sheet the wings? I look forward to following this thread.
Thanks, Travis

Yup, 30NF. I do allot of contact cement stuff right now, so that it what I am used to. May do some vacuum bagging on another project down the road. Been a while since I've done the vacuum so may be time to knock the rust off.

Regular Edge, the Hyperlite Edge was not ready for production and I'm not really into the Slick. I have a 55cc 3DHS Slick and it's great, but I the Edge is still my favorite.

OK, been looking at this gear while I am working on other stuff and wonder if Carbon would not be a better idea.....1lb 7.7oz for Al. gear. Looks like Graphtech has a carden gear that matches the dims of this one that comes in at 12oz, savings of almost half. Any other good suppliers for carbon gear that are good?

i'd ditch that alloy and get some carbon. What about super gear?

you could also ask aerotech for the carbon ones that come with the hyper slick. I think they are pilot rc gear.

That gear looks like some good material for machining accessories
