Cjcycles where did you get that wire covering?
The wire I got from servo city looks very close to the Hitec wire. The signal is a slightly different shade of yellow. The gauge and strand count looks close.

I got the wire sleeve in the picture at the Joe Nall a couple years ago. I picked some up at the Fry's Electronics in Austin a few weeks ago and it looks good.

Re: New hitec 7950TH

I got the maiden in on my EF 110" Yak today. Using a single 7950TH on the rudder going into a SFPE Pro, AR7000 receiver, and two-2300 mAh A123's. No problems at all after 3 flights......

Re: New hitec 7950TH

Does it seem like a single 7950 on a123 is enough for a rudder on a 35% plane? I have seen several comments from people saying that is what they are using so I am guessing its good. I have heard a single 7955 is not quite enough so I am curious if the increased torque these provide is sufficient. On my hempel yak I am thinking about going with 7955's on everything except the rudder which I am thinking of using single 7950. I am using a hitec aurora so hopefully the "glitching" won't be an issue.

Go for it. Plenty powerful for my application.

Re: New hitec 7950TH

Three flights wasn't much of a test, but I did do a couple 1/2 outside knife edge loops with snaps on top and the Yak didn't flinch. No trouble with slow knife edge passes either, so I think it will work just fine.

Re: New hitec 7950TH

I have different thoughts on the one servo on the rudder,,, I am currently building my replacement extreme flight yak110",,, There are several people that I fly with that have tried this. Robert Vess and Larry Lewis both used the Standard JR8711 JR on the rudder of the yak,, they both burnt out motors over time,, they had to go to the JR8711hv,,, There's worked great to start and then over time the motors went bad,,, I am going with the swb tray with two 5955's I have laying around.. I think that the 7950 and the JR 8711 are a far comparison,, except the hitec geartrain is of course far superior,,, but anyway I just think one on the rudder works the servo to hard over the long run.

Way back when, we used to use servos with less torque on two servos than these newer high torque digital servos.

I have just put in a single 7950 on my EF Yak and it flies fine, but lets face it this is a big 35% bird and probably a dual servo setup would be a better bet over time - I think I will put a second servo in mine to avoid any longevity issues.

Hi Guys,
which power managers are you using with 7950 and lipols?
Powerbox systems (for ex. royal) has maximum output voltage 7v.
Do you plug lipols uregulated directly into rx?

Re: New hitec 7950TH

I'm going to leave my single 7950 in the EF Yak. With the huge side area of the fuse, I would think that would take some pressure off the rudder servo when doing knife edge maneuvers as compared to a plane with less side area. Time to see what these servos will do.

If you have to run two servos on the rudder, might as well drop back to the 7955's and save a little $$.

I am installing 1 7950 on the rudder for my 35% Pilot rc extra 260 with 2 a123 2300's and the power expander pro same setup that i have on my QQ yak 101" and have had no issues with not being strong enough.

I burned up an 8711 in my yak. The EF Yak rudder is closer to the size of a 40% than an average 35%. My friend has a set of tail covers for a 40% Comparf Extra. The rudder cover fits my 110" Yak like a glove. One servo will work but if you intend on flying it hard I would go with two servos.

Re: New hitec 7950TH

I got seven flights on my WH Edge today. I had burned up the 7955s on the ailerons after about 6 months of hard flying and replaced them with 7950s. The Edge only uses one servo per aileron.

I am running 2 A123 batteries, 2 switches, servos plugged directly into JR 12x RX.

I saw no jumping or jitters. Servos seemed very fast and well centered

The next 6 months will tell the tale.
