Bummer (for me). DA is a smart company and they listen to the customers that will increase their revenue. I see these offerings as filling gaps in areas where they can make a lot of sales. I understand from a business standpoint this is the smartest thing to do. The few customers they will lose (unfortunately me for the time being) due to their lack of a larger scale offering (240'ish range) will not affect their bottom line.

I guess instead of waiting for DA to release a larger engine, I need to get more people interested in the 42%-45% size planes and Advanced/Unlimited IMAC... "If enough people have the need.... THEY WILL BUILD IT"

I bet this does make a lot of people happy though...

No specs or details right now, they are still finalizing the designs. So right now, no prices, no specs as of yet.
Dave and Tony said as soon as they are available we will know!

That 35 is going to do awesome! Changes my thinking! Might have to build a 30cc floatplane with a DA 35 now lol

Patience...

Take a look at how they do things:
50cc cylinders x2 = 100cc
60cc x2 = 120cc
85cc x2 = 170cc
50cc x4 = 200cc
35cc x 2 = 70cc

The only exception is the 150 which they have had for many many years...

It is safe to say they have the means to put out:
60cc cylinders x 4 = 240cc
35cc x4 = 140cc
85cc x4 = 340cc

I'm not so sure about the 140cc 4-banger. 150cc is covered already and a 4x35cc would weigh more than the 150 does.

So lets see. That would be:
35, 50, 60, 70, 85, 100, 120, 140, 150, 170, 200, 240 and 340.
That should just about do it. LOL

By that logic the 70 twin doesn't make sense because there is a 60 and an 85. They are making these things crazy light now...especially with the mag case and milling they offer for the 200. I think a 4 cyl 140 in a 37.5ish plane could be sweet. There may or may not be applications for any of the ones I listed...I was just pointing out that they can more easily make multi cylinder engines once they have perfected the single.

DA 35

Is it American made? If so and it is not priced thru the roof, they may coax me into one to go along with my 5 G38s. .. Brian

I heard a rumor from someone who toured the DA facility a month ago and saw a few 240's on a bench. I was hoping they were announcing it at the show
