but only in china they seem to turn a blind eye to problems, the weak bearings, soft crankpin issue has been going on for a long time.what it is they don't pay attenion to the harding of the bearings and or the crankpin.you may get a good one the next is bad.
if china would address this issue they could have some good engines for less than half the price of top shelf ones.
if we all would refuse to buy such engines maybe then they would get it,but we still buy them and that is part of the problem.

You will take no more of a risk buying a EME than a DLE.

60cc - yes.

55cc - not so much, I would buy the DLE 55 instead of the EME 55 as there have been less problems with the DLE in that size.

Care to expand? are you referring to the earlier 55cc (from the beginning of this thread) or the newer version that is available? has there been documented problems with the new one as well

Just trying to verify this as I am considering that engine myself....

Ok - Here goes my reasoning.

EME 60
Awesome power curve and total power. Proving to be very reliable when purchased from authorised local vendors. (I don't know about the reliability of the ones from the Chinese based vendors).

EME 55 V2
Acceptable power curve, very similar to the DLE55 power curve. I see more poeple having trouble with the EME 55 V2 than I see having trouble with the DLE55 (Especially early bearing failure).

So - to me, the EME 60 is well worth the extra money over the EME55 V2.

The EME55 V1 was an outright dog of an engine for the most (I am sure there are some who wil say they have one that is wonderful but they are by far in the minority).

I don't purchase any Chinese engines whatsoever - so what you see above is a totally unbiased opinion on the brands.

Although I got ripped for using a foreign vendor mine is from SDS. He also gave me 2 free rcexcel kill switches and 2 free tachs. Did not charge shipping and I paid 329.00 to the door. This of course was nothing more other than to start his sales. I have one of the first production motors.

EME 55cc v2

I have had the EME 35cc engine for a year know and it has been a great running engine from the start. I have read some bad reports on the EME 55cc engine so I have waited to see what would happen with it. Here is a review of the EME 55cc V2 engine and it had some very good things to says about it so I went to Milehigh RC and bought one for $269.00 with free shipping and a rcexl kill switch.

Here is the link to the review from SD Hobby.

Mike went into business with mile high 2 months after I purchased my 60 or he would have got my business. I will get parts from him when / if the time comes. Like others I enjoy working on the engines my self and it definitely looks as my 60 will out live the warranty.
