Whats up with these 2 batteries?

I have 2 Gens Ace 4s 4000 25c batteries out of 10 that are within 2 months of each other as far as age goes. These 2 batteries have almost caused several crashes until they were identified as untrustworthy. They charge up fine but after a few seconds of hovering or repeated full throttle bursts they will power down totally.Usually the plane has to be deasticked in & they will be fine but after a full throttle burst they drop right back down again. For now they are not being used & was about to trash them but at 40.00 a piece I thought I would see if they can be saved. What can I do?

Toss em. That is why you only paid $40 each.
Those packs are about 8 out of 10 always... I'd say you were lucky to get 8 good ones!

It's a cheap battery problem.
That is why they are 50% the cost of high end packs. The QC is not there.

I ordered 4 packs a few weeks back.. 3 of the 4 are awesome, the 4th was fun to shoot with a BB gun...
At the end of the day, even with a bad pack at $26 each for 4S 2600 packs I still saved $120 and I'm totally happy with the 3 that work.

I have quite a few "Flightpower" batteries with most being three to four years old and after a long period of inactivity ( I kept between 65-75% charge in them ) I recharged them a few weeks ago and every single one of the 10 or so I used that day were perfect, like day one with no noticable loss at all....
Point is, they did cost more than the HK batteries but I didn't have to throw even one away....

Well I look at it like this,if 2 out of 10 took a dump I still saved money vs buying 80-90.00 packs that will never go bad.So far Gens Ace has been good to me.My 59 Slick will draw them down to 14.7 if you push it real hard so thats probably the reason they went bad.I guess I should take a minute off the timer.Back to the question I had,can these packs be salvaged? They take a charge & hold one with no problem.

When a LiPo quits delivering rated current or capacity its over. You can't make it better.

You can expect ANY LiPo to have decreasing current delivery capability with age. At 3 years a 20C rated pack might only deliver 2C to 5C current without overheating.
