The nylon screws were fine for the first 60 flights or so. Then in a hard vertical snap, one of the nylon screws broke and when the canopy ejected, it ripped out the fuse and destroyed the canopy. If you are going to use them, at least replace them periodically.

Ouch! Another option if you're willing to do some work is spring-loaded latches. The ones I fabbed for my Extra are entering their 3rd season know without a problem to date. Easy on and off....and no screws to lose!

No it did break, but I repaired it. I tinted it black so you can not see all the glue and duct tape on the inside. I have a new one for IMAC that I will add the pilot figure and dashboard into, but I use this one for everyday use.

I replaced mine to metal cap screws/rubberized washers. The only way to go.

Nylon is better for electric use. You should have plenty of metal screws left for the canopy.

Spent another fun weekend with my girlfriend (Slick 104) . Had some magical moments. Tag teamed on the 48" Edge between the slick flights. Glad i cought the nylon canopy screws before it cost me a canopy on the slick 104. The one that did not break had white stress marks in it. That was close. If you push your sticks hard you need to replace them ASAP.

Broke in the Blade MCPX v2 (heli) It fly's like a humming bird. Lightning fast and fun.

I think i had a radio in my hands the whole time i was at the field.

Anyone know who makes these prop covers?? I like them because they look to just be black and not have Xoar or Vox written big on them..Maybe the old owner of this 104 will chime in and know!

If anyone doesnt know have any links to some generic prop covers and not the Xoar or Vox ones? Google isnt really helping me today.

Thanks

I would say that nylon is adequate for electric use. Perhaps it is easier, but not better.
