WrongWay RC. 50cc Profile Build

Hello All.

This is my very first kit build. I've "assembled" several ARF's over the past few years, but have never done a kit build. It's also my first attempt at a build thread, so please bear with me. I'm so unsure of my abilities here, I've recruited a bit of help. Bryan Doxey, a long-time modeler/builder/IMAC sorta fellow, Stephen Washington, a kit builder/ARF assembler/3D'ing kind a guy and Bryan Deis, master Cardin builder have graciously agreed to help this noob get this plane in the sky. About the kit. This is a WrongWay RC product. WW RC is owned by Richard Bahman in Florida. Richard is one heck of a nice guy, and from the looks of this kit, markets a well designed product as well. The landing gear will be cut & bent by a friend of mine who happens to have the tools & expertise to get the job done. They will be done hopefully in the next few weeks. Last night, Bryan Doxey came over and we spent about 6 hours working on the left wing. It is now approx 80% built. Pics to follow....

Funny you should mention that. We actually did have Coors last night. Probably a few more in our future. ;-)

And while we're at it, This bird takes 4 servos, (+throttle) I'll be using for the first time, the Savox SC-1256TG with 277oz/6v. I was planning to use 7955's, but prefer to wait & see if Hitec gets their house in order in regards to the jittering problems they're having with the 79xx series. Receiver is a JR-921. Arms will be SWB-2" for maximum throw.

Ok, After 5 hours tonight, we have most of the second wing done. T.E. sheeting is done, and it's ready for the shear webbing then L.E. sheeting and a few other things. Now have approx 11 hours in the build over two days.

A little more detail about a few things..
We're going to put 4, 1/8" ply rings on each of the first 4 ribs (In each wing) where the wing tube receiver passes through to strengthen the rib/receiver assembly. Also we will shorten the actual wing tube by about 1/2" and install one 1/4" block into each end of the wing tube receiver to catch the end of the wing tube, and prevent it from breaking through the fragile balsa ribs. We'll also install a 1/16" ply end cap on the end of each wing, laminated onto each end wing rib to add some protection to the balsa end cap. This seems too fragile to me to be left as is. Bryan's going to be away for awhile, so I'll be left to my own to work on the stabs, elevators & ailerons. I also need to finish installing the gusset plates & shear webbing in the right wing. I'll continue taking pictures as I go along, and for a switch, it will actually be ME doing the building for the next 2-3 days. Wish me luck!
