The easiest way is to put it on the gear channel. If you want to leave it on aux4, you will need to create a mix aux4 to aux4 so you can assign a switch to it, otherwise it will be on one of the rotary dials. Make sure that the travel is set to 150+ and 150- on each end.

I put mine on Aux 2.

Also be sure you have the switch or rotary dial turned on. Function 17

Good point, I forgot to mention that.

I'd nix putting it on the gear switch... That's where I've always put it, but not any longer... Too easy for someone to hit that switch when handing the Tx back and forth when letting other people fly your airplane... Don't ask me how I know... Not once, but twice...

Any switch you put it on is subject to that. The gear switch is just the only switch on that section of the transmitter, so I just keep my fingers away from it.

On my 9303 I have it plugged into aux4 and assigned it to the trainer button, works fine.

The 10X doesn't allow for switch to channel assignment like the 9303 does.

If got mine hooked up to Aux-4 where I have to turn the dial to kill the engine. My long fumbling fingers get in the way of all switches.

I think Everyday3 was asking how to hook it up to just work? I have the Electro-Dynamics Optic kill switch. I don't know how his kill switch is set up so I can't help him.

Re: Ignition cut off with 10x

Thanks for all the help guys. Apparently I need to move the aux 4 dial 1/4 turn storeit and set it back to 0 and it works fine on any of my switches now. Found it out by acedent. Now on to programing the smoke system. I have to say programing on the 9303 was much easier. Any suggestion on programing sullivian smoke pump on the gear channel using the mix switch, with multy point curve would be great. Thanks again

Everyday3,

I have a 12x with the cutoff on Aux6 rotary knob. I can control the cutoff just fine but if I turn my radio off the ignition stays hot. You might want to check that. If I figure mine out I will let you know.

Re: Ignition cut off with 10x

For smoke on the 10x.

You need to use mix program 56. Set it so that the mix is a curve.

1. Set your off value to -100 or more. This tells the ESC to turn off. I use gear switch toward me for this.

2. Gear switch away will now be on. I prefer to not have the pump on intially. I set a really small curve to start with with 6 points. Then I hook up the pump so that it both draws and pumps smoke oil from the smoke oil can. You don't want to run the pump without oil to lubricate the gears or it can heat up and die (especially from the get go).

3. Once you get the pump drawing oil you set the curve where the motor hardly runs at idle and then slowly goes to something less than 1/2 throttle at full throttle on the throttle stick. The pump never needs to run full throttle. If it does you will be wasting precious/expensive smoke oil and will be cleaning oil off the plane vs. just residue.

4. I do a couple test runs engine running in the drive way just to make sure things are working. Then its off to flight test to get the mix better.

5. If you change throttle settings via the trim or travel adjust or put a throttle curve in your radio it will effect the smoke settings since its mixed to throttle. Sometimes its easier to delete your mix and start from scratch after you make these other changes

Let me know if you got any other 10x questions..
