You going to run smoke RJ?
oalhindi, pipes are problematic when running smoke because of the long distance from the point where the oil is pumped into the exhaust to the point that it exits. Tuned pipes run cooler too which means that the smoke oil doesn't burn as well. As a 3rd challenge, the outlet hole on the tuned pipes is smaller than mufflers which makes the small amount of smoke exiting restrict the outlet at a higher percentage which partially chokes the engine. All in all, smoke and pipes are a possible combination, but it's generally more of a pain than it's worth.

oalhindi, if smoke is important to you, just run stock mufflers. I would not recommend using canisters for sure!!
Daniel, yep, my 104" Extra is set up for smoke. I'll more than likely flip the switch on at some point as well! RJ

I'll tell you what, for the amount of times I'm gonna use smoke, maybe 3 or 4 short times in the XFC routines, I'm putting pipes in mine. I honestly won't use the smoke any time other a competition or maybe a demo here and there, it's just not worth the damage and mess it causes. I'll take the power gain and the noise reduction that pipes will offer any day, my local clubs have sound restrictions too. Daniel, smoke can work very well with pipes, obviously not as good as standard mufflers but if you install the nipples at the right spot on the headers it will produce enough to serve the purpose, it just requires extensive programming to get it right.

i believe greeves pipes has the smoke nipples on the tuned pipe itself. dont have experience with greeves pipes, but that could be a option also

The wait for this airframe is long and painful, but worth it, I hope.
The winter in Sweden is to cold for practising IMAC, so its just as well any how.The positive side to waiting is that you have good time to decide on set up. This is what I am going to put in my 2012 IMAC Intermediate weapon. No more gasoline fumes in my car and apartment and plenty of power.
