I agree with you in that I believe it will "focus" the prop blast, but I disagree that the result is that it will hurt 3D performance...I think it will put more air over the tail surfaces and give you greater control.

I'm really interested in seeing how they perform. It's great to see new stuff like this.

Saw that prop in action at last weeks Texarkana Big Bird....pretty quiet and performed well IMO

OK, I see what you are saying. I did not think of it that way. I was thinking of air over the ailerons and forgeting about the much need air over the tail surfaces. I am a dunce!

I just watched the video from post # 246. Is it just me or is the motor winding up pretty good and the plane isn't moving like most 50cc birds I see. It acts like it has a realllly low pitch prop. Hovering seems to use a Lot of throttle. I'm not convinced of any efficiency here only lower effective pitch. The plane looked slow in passes past the camera and punch out was slower than most 50cc birds... .02
