Has anyone played with different three blade props on the 176 and smooth pipes. I currently have a mej 29/12 and thinking it is not enough prop. Plus for IMAC I really like a 31" prop but new field rules mandate a 3 blade now.

Hi James,
I was wondering the same thing.

I have my GP176 evo now, and plan to run the proflow smooth pipes with the MEJ29x12x3 for IMAC at sea level.

Given all the feedback about the power of this motor/pipe combo, what sort of static on ground rpm are you getting on the 29x12x3?

The first tune and less than 30oz of fuel I was hitting 6500 rpm easy and fast

Crap, james, that's a lot of power.

I wonder how the MEJ 30x13x3 might go then?

I think if we can keep the static well under 6500 on the ground it should pull good in the air.

Kinda what I was thinking. I still need to fly the combo yet but I have a feeling if I get a static around 6000RPM it will be great in the air.

Yep, I kinda agree, as long as the prop can keep the motor in the piped region of the exhaust. Just not sure where that starts and stops on the proflows with this motor.

I have a mate who had the zdz180 on mtw cans, ( plane is dead now) he is going to check later today what prop he was running for imac on that motor. From memory it went awesome.
There is also the mej 29x12x3 evo as well. Its a wider blade but a slightly thinner profile, so it might not get things where they need to be.
