Its 1/16" steve. The crash proof option is available for 25,000.00 but is voided after the plane reaches 100 ft msl.

Re: Dalton Aviation 42% Extra 300 Mark Leseberg Edition build

The December month has had me busy with work related stuff... so I have had little progress this past week on the plane. This morning I did manage to finish off the hatch, for now. just need to mount the canopy.

Here are some shots of the rudder and stab finished up as well. The rudder has CF running on the TE, hinge line, and across the bottom of the counter balance.

Next, will be the stabs. I will show the CF process I use in these during the build. After that, wings and she's built!

Hey Matt, can you give us an equipment breakdown of what you are planning on using in your new bird? Like prop, spinner, and stuff like that. You are doing great job so far, keep it up!

I decided not to modify the stabs as they are plenty light stock. A few people have asked about the sheeting process... so here are a few pictures of the sheets and how I join them. Now, on the stabs, I do not edge glue the sheets.

I make sure that they are taped well and tight, and just use the Gorilla glue to penetrate the joints. By the way, new new Gorilla glue dries in 2 hours... this stuff is great.

As you can see the stabs are sheeted, and have the stab tubes in them. I also added the LE and TE but did not get a picture.

I didn't get much further today as we were setting up the Christmas tree. I also set up my 260 with a new 2.4 Ghz system.

thanks... actually I really don't know yet. I am planning to run the DA170 on Greve pipes, but I don't know what prop yet as the engine isn't released yet. I can tell you that it will be a 3 blade prop... guessing 30X12 Spinner, again don't know until I balance the plane.

I will be running 8711's, 2 on each aileron, 1 each elevator, 2 on rudder... SWB arms and links, hanger 9 horns. 4131 on throttle, Smart fly ignition cut off switch, A123 batteries, JR 9100 9 channel 2.4 reciever, and hopefully no match boxes. 22 ga. wire to all connections.

Spinner will be CF if the plane is nose heavy and Aluminum if it is tail heavy.

Are you setting it up just for IMAC? What is your thinking on dropping an aileron servo from the plans? It does seem to be a bit of overkill with 3, but then again I have never had too much power!

IMAC mainly. Not too much with 3 servos.... that was with the 8611's. This how my 260 is set up.

Without enough servo power it will not fly as crisp.

I will set everything old school... 100% mechanical with 1:1 linkages.

Matt, are you going to do the same on the wings (no edge gluing) I have always wondered how that would turn out. Looks great on your stabs, no issues with the seams?

Hey steve... I will edge glue the wing sheeting, because I will need to join them lengthwise and the wings will be honeycombed out. The stabs come out perfect like this, as long as the joints are tight.
