Default DLE 55 with 17x6

I know this probably sounds weird but I have a fairly large airboat that I built to originally take a MLD 28. That engine is causing me a ton of problems and I have a DLE 55 that isn't being used at the moment. The problem that I'm seeing is the engine mount height only has room to clear a 17" prop. I know this will be very small but will a 17x6 work or will it just be spinning too fast?

I run a 17X8 on a DLE 20 that rips. My son's DLE 55 spins a 23b Vess with authority.
I'm thinking it would never see full throttle with that prop

WAAAAAAY too small. Minimum diameter on a 55 should be a 20".

If you could find a 17" prop with a serious amount of pitch..that would be a hoot!
imagine all those RPM's with a ton of speed coming out of a 12-14 pitch

Thanks guys that's what I was thinking. I was hoping to be able to bolt it on tonight and get it out tomorrow since it's perfect weather but I'll work on getting the MLD going. Hopefully.

You may want to try a 3 blade 17/? with the highest pitch you can find. I am running a 16X8 3 Blade on a DLE 20cc at 8,200 rpm Master Airscrew, and the 20 will turn a Master Airscrew 15X7 3 Blade at
9,100rpm.
