CoolBox- ToolBox on Steroids!

I have been following this for the last month and finally jumped on for a CoolBox!

Sure, this toolbox can be built DIY, but I would not be able to pull it off so cleanly with all the integrated features.

Coolbox - The World's Smartest Toolbox (2 min 9 sec)

It is $170 right now (early adopters got it for $159 a few weeks ago), which I did not find too bad after pricing out all the parts that go into this.

I am going to complete it by adding a monitor and using this as the basis for my next FPV ground station.

Surprised by the haters! While these guys seem to be hipsters, what difference doe it make? If the quality is right, $300 dollars is fine. be cool to have extra light, charge my phone and listen to some tunes whilst at the pits. can use the usb for all sorts of things probably.

Anyway at $169 its not bad at all. I will get one

Not a hater, just a professional trim carpenter. I'm not looking for an ipod charging station, stereo, battery, drop box, flood light, or tablet holder. It's cool, and has lots of features, but it's made for hobbyists that want gimicks. Sorry. $170 is worth it, just does not make sense for someone like me.

besides, take that to a job site and an undesirable will be leaving with it because it is so cool.

I see where you are coming from, it is a bit hobbyist-style. I have a nice combo from Küpper and its solid as anything, far better quality than stanley fatmax. I usually just take the top to the field.

I do agree with you funboy, this is not truly made for the jobsite. It is gimmicky [but appears to be well made with good materials], it is a bit novelty, and not the most utilitarian with all the bells and whistles...

That said, I think it is perfect for the airfield, fly-ins, tailgating at ball games and concerts, working on nightflyers under the floodlights, and more. My home field [see Pecan Patch Airstrip, full scale 0GE4] does not have power on the flight line and this is going to make flying/charging a little more enjoyable for me.
