Last I heard the first real shipment will be here some time later this summer. I have plenty flights on mine and it flies like a dream, it flies just as well as any of the high dollar high end pattern ships on the market for a small fraction of the cost which in my opinion makes it the best thing pattern has seen in a long time. It will make weight with no effort as well, mine is set up with all the stock hardware, the Torque Silver Bullet motor and a Castle HV 85 power by Thunder Power 5S 5300 Pro Lites and also the new G6 Thunder Power 5000 Pro Lites, it came in at 10lb. 7oz..

Well it's doing better than comp arf then, I have seen a comp arf Valiant with a YS 170 come in over 5.05kg...or outside FAI limits in other words!

I didn't do anything to save weight with mine either, I could easily shave some extra weight off but since I'm promoting the plane for Extreme Flight I wanted to show it bone stock out of the box to prove that it is worthy, and it flies excellent. There is one being flown in the Worlds also, I hope it makes believers out of these one track minded guys that think you need a $2000.00 airframe to be competitive.

I hope so too bud. As a diehard F3A flyer, I've wondered why there has been a gap in the market for so long, for an up to date ARF wood airframe. Now it is at long last happening, with both EF and soon 3DHS with offerings.

Sure there are 2m frames out there, but they struggle to keep up with the draggier more voluptuous designs of today. This is not to say, you can't do well because of course 95% is the pilot, however for those of us up in FAI class who want to really hit home it's great to have a cheaper option available. Maybe it will tempt more new blood into pattern.

Gotta love the F3A guys who're all rushing to buy an 18 MZ

Who is using one at the Worlds if you don't mind me asking? I've been following all the updates from the UK team, and might ask them to have a poke about it for me

Has anyone heard the release date? Will to be this year?

It's already released. The 1st batch sold out already, and the 2nd batch should be here in 6 weeks or so at last update.

It's just that it was not broadly released, right? I've seen posts where folks said they haven't seen it on the EF site and so perhaps it was a beta release of sorts? Work the squalks out before a production run? Or just to team pilots?
