Which SF unit should i use??

I have on back order a hanger9 Extra260 35%...I have 6 hs5955(ali and ele), hs7950(rud) and power hd ds120m (7.2v) for throttle. I would like to run full battery power to servos, using 2 of troy built model 5200mah ions..Which of your units should i use..--dle111 for engine--ar7000 for reciever...??? I would like to have something with servo matching....Thanks

Power expander pro if you plan to use a Hitec servo programmer, EQ10 if you do not. If you plan to run an ignition kill the Competition 12 is another option. Personally, IMO,unregulated li-ions will not provide a consistent enough voltage, as their voltage drop is linear, so every flight can feel slightly different than the prior. Not to mention their voltage drops significantly under a load. If this is a 3D only bird then its probably no big deal. But if you intend to fly upper levels of IMAC, consider the EQ6 or EQ6 turbo.

Hi,
Since you want servo matching and to run full voltage then I suggest the PowerExpander Eq10. If you want regulated voltage then I would suggest the PowerSystem Eq6 Plus. If you use A123s then you can still use the Eq10. For this size plane you really don't need the extra torque full Li-ion voltage gives you unless you are really going to minimize the number of servos, but this is my opinion.

you dont need any of that stuff.

do you have a good radio like a 9303 or something? you shouldent be using a dx7 with a 35%er, your radio is the most important pice of eq.

keep it simple, get one of the power safe recivers either the spektrum or the JR
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...#quickOverview spektrum
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=JRPR922 JR

just plug in a pair of a123's
and get a pair of JR match boxes for the aielerons.

simple, effective, low cost, and a lot of the top pilots use it.

1. do i need to buy another radio like 9303 or can i use my dx7?
2. i was looking at the eq6 and notice there's only three set of servo hookups per channel----do i use a y-harness for
the ali channel or do i assign my aux channel in radio to work with ali.

i dont have to have servo matching i have access to a programmer......

Re: Which SF unit should i use??

He he... It's like asking which engine oil to use, people have beliefs that are anchored in realities they have built around these beliefs...

If you can program the Hitecs, you do not need, in principle, a power expander and could use the Power Safe Rx. This said, I personally like the flexibility given by the power expander, the regulated voltage to the receiver, the failsafe switch and the battery redundancy. I guess my experience with the PowerSafe Rx has not been great.

On my H9 35% Extra, I used the Comp 12 (I had one lying around). You could also use the PE Pro and have the ignition module separate. Both will work great and do exactly what you need. I do use A123s, so I don't really need regualtors. If you use LiPos or LiIons, you might want a unit with regulation...

Hope this helps...

You can use your DX7 just fine.

You plug the right wing servos into the aileron channel(ch2). You plug the left wing servos into the flap channel(ch6) and then activate flaperon mixing in your DX7.

I used the EQ6 on my plane with built in ignition cutoff, and it was perfect. Super easy and very reliable. I would highly recommend that one from personal experience.

Re: Which SF unit should i use??

Hi,
You can use your DX-7, we did a lot of 35% testing using a DX-7 a couple years ago. Basically you should split your ailerons using flaperon function. Make sure you zero out the flap switch contribution. You can put your elevator on one channel, you can reverse a servo if you need an match both halves using the Eq10 or Eq6. Most of the rest should be straight forward. let me know what other questions you have.
