Gohbee 50 Size
Hello Friends,
I have never touched a Heli in my life but after seeing some crazy Szabo videos I want to start now. My buddy has a Gohbee 50 size heli for sale. Any word on this heli? Is it worth buying one of these? Any information would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Gohbee 50 Size
I have a gohbee 50 and am very happy with it. I just use it for aerial photography though. David at Gohbee is very helpful also. If you have never touched a heli, then the first thing you need to do is get a flight simulator.

I don't own one, but I did help set one up, and I did the test flights on it. It's a very nice heli, it was stable while still having very quick response. Plus, you've got to put some value in the fact that after a crash, you can always put Raptor parts on it, and they are available anywhere. The only thing I've heard negative about them is that some of the parts wear out fast. Not first hand experience, just what I've read.

Re: Gohbee 50 Size
Depends on how old the one you are buying is.
Over the last year there have been many improvements made to the Stinger 50. If the Stinger 50 that you are looking at is relatively new then it is a great heli to learn on. Even if it is an older one you can still upgrade to the newer parts as you go thru the inevetible unauthorized landing orientations. You will find that the Stinger 50 parts are significantly less expensive than Raptor parts. I have crashed my Raptor 50 a couple of times now because I forget that it is not as agile as the Stinger 50. Yet the Stinger 50 can be setup to be even more stable than the Raptor 50. Don't get me wrong, the Raptor is still a great machine for the money, But I think that the Stinger does have some advantages over it, the raptor does have the advantage of more places that carry parts. Bottom line is that if the Stinger 50 you are looking at is in good shape, and at a reasonable price, it is not a bad little heli. |

Re: Gohbee 50 Size
Hi just like to say that the Gohbee 50 has not really taken off in Aus , l have a Raptor Titan 50 and have no complaints it is rock solid, l look at it if you are going too replace any parts on your Gohbee for raptor parts well why not buy a Raptor in the first place.

Re: Gohbee 50 Size
Hi,
I don't own one, never built one, haven't flown one, but have seen one up close. I was a bit concerned about the apparent quality of the plastic parts. It had mould flashing at the seems and wasn't that 'flexible type' plastic like in the Raptor. I fly a Raptor because parts are everywhere and are very affordable, oh, and I like to be different. Woz. |

Re: Gohbee 50 Size
Yeah, same here, it's all raptor 50s around here, and then me flying (formerly) my Evo, and now the Pantera. Even if I hadn't had a bad run in with Ace to make me swear off the TT product line, I still couldn't get a Raptor for all the crap the guys would give me. Good thing there is no reason to buy a Rappy with all the superior products on the market, especially with many of them at lower prices.

Re: Gohbee 50 Size
I got nothing against the raptor, I had a few myself. Getting started it great to go with the masses. I get bored with sticking with one brand for too long. Change is good.

Same here, I've had a bunch of them, but I also like new stuff. Then I had a run in with their "Customer Service", and now I don't own their stuff. To each their own, they are good flying, durable machines with great parts support, I just wanted more.

Re: Gohbee 50 Size
Everyone is right!
Most Helis now are of quite good quality. The only limitations are probably the pilot. It is unfortunate to see that most undergo a change of brands due to the customer service, or lack thereof. I work in the industry and while many issues people have are justified there are always those that try and sneak things through. The result is that those that do the right thing are treated with suspicion also, seems to be the way of the world now. When I'm out flying I just luv to see any Heli buzzing about regardless of brand. My biggest problem is having a ding and not being able to get straight back in the air. Mostly I can't be bothered chasing warranty or to find blame with others or product 'defects', just gimme the parts to stick in it, it is a cheap sport for lotsa fun. Warren. |
