Another 15 minutes.

Warning: Only heat the poly glue enough to thin it. The fumes will kill you. Ask LakeRider8.

Better hurry and get that ready for paint while you can still paint outside...

Wife might make up a new number on her own for two winters of paint in the basement.

Yep.. Although I could use one more coat of "Coca Cola Red" on the floor. The current coat is getting scuffed!!

OK....maybe stupid question! Why polyglue on the FG cloth and not resin? Does resin melt the foam? Is poly/FG cloth as stiff & strong as typical FG layups (given the same weight cloth)?

Well never a stupid question Earle. The only stupid question is one that isn't asked.

Why Poly glue.. It's light. It sands pretty easy. It fills the weave. It has this strange characteristic when used with glass that it is very ding resistant. It seems to pop back to shape somehow.

I just like to use it as it works well for this application. One up parts I suppose. I'll rough sand it and maybe put some light weight spacking on it and then cover it with the dacron. The tail feathers where made like this.

I'll make the wheel pants, landing gear cuffs the same way. And yes... prolly a "scoop".

Another 15 minutes today. Holly Cowl!!

Believe it or not this tip is close to being ready to cover. Only the outer most edges get fabric cement and the fabric will span the low spots since there is no adhesive. It truly is a pretty nice way to make parts.

I will probably pull molds off of the finished product next winter. I'll just use the 3M window insulation kits and cover the finished plane and then lay resin to it. We'll see.

Finger trialled some spackling on. Literally just smear it on. A quick sand tomorrow and they're done. I may seal them with something but not sure yet.

Forget tomorrow. It's done.

Mr. Barnes this is a pretty good way to build a plug for a cowl say... A layer of point 75 ounce cloth next with epoxy and you have it down to a pretty good surface to finish prime and gloss coat paint.

I'm just sayin.... It ain't hard..

Yep... Use with plenty of ventilation. Warm it very carefully. It contains isocynates ! They are one of a professional painters worst enemies. After discovering it the hard wayI use an appropriate respirator when using this method. However I did find it quicker and easier than cloth and epoxy
