Re: CRRC PRO GF45I any good?

this was my 3rd flight on that plane, he "Jim" set his cg forward so it was pretty hard to hover, but there was a sweet spot I finaly found. I really dont like profiles very much, they fly weird IMO...

Hi Craig,
Here is a link that is one of the standards in aviation smoke oil - probably the best stuff on the market.

Re: CRRC PRO GF45I any good?

Hi guys, does anyone know how to contact this company??? I tried emailing them and they never responded. He responded to me when I asked questions but when I needed support he just ignored me. I need help because on the first flight with this engine the weld on the muffler cracked and half the muffler fell off.

yes this is a problem. i have had a brand new muffler last just 2 flights then fell apart. its due to the very thin material used in making the mufflers. talk to jim at western hobbies. he has a direct link to the factory and i would suggest you direct your questions towards jim.

other than that.....do what im doing and modify the existing muffler system

cheers

Hi Extra,
Did you try emailing us at Western Hobbies? You can contact us by email at westernhobbies@msn.com or give us a call at 602-647-0165. Either way we can definitely solve your problem. If you have version 2 we can send you the side mount muffler or if it is version 3 you can use the side mount or the new pitts by slimline. Let us know!

Sincerely,
Jim

I have version one. I also have tried to email you guys dozens of times and have had no responses. Now that I am talking to some one could you explain how you will solve this problem??? It is not my fault the welds fell apart.

Re: CRRC PRO GF45I any good?

If you read his other posts... he never sold and does not support version 1 motors.
Most of the people selling them are on Ebay and won't help you.

I'd say buy a new muffler, slap that motor on Ebay and get what you can for it.

Get a version 3, or get a different motor.

For reasonable engines... I have heard that the http://www.bcmaengines.com/ guy is a good dude, offers great service and his motors are very reasonable.

I was leary at first , but have found out good things.

let me say that this engine is great!!!. ive done some mods to it to rid it of the bugs and now that i have its brilliant. yes i have a muffler problem...but im working on that.

i have found that those of you that bag the **** out of this engine are the ones who havent bothered to spend any time trying to sort the problems....you try to start it and when it doesnt....you claim its a worthless piece of **** and throw it in the "too hard" basket. well i for one HAVE spent the time on it and it works just fine. im now looking to get more horsepower out of it....i will keep you all posted when ive finished and share with you all what ive done and why.

cheers
