Which Smart Fly to use?

I'm building an H9 Beast I'll be using 2 2 cell A123 bats., Futaba 8FG tx w/ R6008HS rx, 7- Hitec 7950's plan on mixing ali w/radio and ele w/smart fly. Thinking of using Powerexpander Pro, it has 10 channels I only have 8, will this make a difference. My first large scale plane so any suggestions or help in this area will be appreciated. Thanks RR

I use the EQ10. Very easy to set up and sychronize.

Hi,
If you go with the Pro you do not have any Equalizer (servo matching/reversing) functions. If you do not need those this will work fine although I would suggest you look at the PowerExpander Competition 12 with Ignition Cutoff. If you do need servo matching/reversing then I think the Eq10 would be the best to use with A123s.

Couple more questions....sorry, I'm just butting in here.....does the eq10 have ignition cut-off ? and your website says it is out of stock, when will it be available ? I'm building a 42%'er and have three servos on each wing half. I'm a SW IMAC'er and truly appreciate your support of the IMAC flyers.
Thanks,

Thanks for response, if I use comp 12 or eq 10 what to do with extra channels,( tape plugs?) and are these units compatable with my rx tx? When will eq 10 be back in stock? RR

Hi,
The Eq10 does not have the Ignition Cutoff built in, you need to buy it separately. If you do not use all the channels on a PowerExpander or PowerSystem you just leave them unconnected. They are designed so this is fine. I expect some Eq10s in by Friday or Monday.

I am building an AEOROTECH Extra 300 35%. Power will be a DA 100L. Radio is a Futaba 12Z with R6014 receiver. What would be the best recomendation for a Smart Fly power management system?

I would use the comp 12 powersystem plus. It can handle all 12 proportional channels of the 6014 rx, it has the ignition cut off built in.

If you don't need voltage regulators, then I would use the PowerExpander comp 12. Since I use Life batteries, this is the unit that I use in my large jets and IMAC planes.

Re: Which Smart Fly to use?

The smart-fly eq10 is great. This is a great company with the best support possible. The eq10 along with all other Smart-Fly products is the best solution for the new H-9Beast. I have used a lot of the products they offer, and always when I need help/support I just call up and in I swear, normally with in 2-3 minutes my question is answered. I am a big fan & supporter of the company. I buy only Smart-Fly for all 50cc and bigger. Buy Smart-Fly and never look back !!!!!!!!! Simple !!!!!
