It wasnt 6 months ago a guy was killed in Houston, in his front yard, while cutting the grass, by some scumbag that wanted his wallet. The guy didnt resist and got killed anyway. Look around. Sometimes it is necessary to carry a gun while cutting the grass.

243 22-250 270 300 and a couple of 22s for hunting then I carry a Smith and Wesson 9mm to keep the coyotes and pigs away.

I have few pistols, shotgun and a rifle. I think going to the range is the best idea for any gun owner. You have to get use to how it works. The more you shoot the safer you and your family will be. Looking at getting a Glock-22 for CC. Also need to get the wife out. She thinks she's rambo and I need her to be familiar with them!

I use to have a number of guns when I was in the military, hunting a lot and shooting on the rifle and pistol teams. Now I have a five shot .38 revolver full of 158 grain hydro-shocks. The wife doesn't dial 911 under I run out of ammo. I bought a whole box but don't think I'll ever need the rest. Here's an old pic of me going to work in 1982. BTW as a former Baltimore City Police Officer I can tell you that the police can't stop someone from killing you, they just take the report.

Within a week of turning 21 I bought a Springfield XD-45. That think is ALOT of fun to shoot!

I've got several more rifles and shotguns, but my two favorites are:

1. Bushmaster AR-15 with a red dot sight
2. 1943 Springfield M1 Garand

you should look into the springfield armory xd or the xdm just like the glock but safer and a allround a better shooting gun. very nice grips scott
